Some new Software engineering terms have come to light in recent of some recent research articles. Among the new terms that have been defined recently, one interesting case is that of “Context Reflux”. Here is the formal definition as introduced in the International Journal of Modern Software Engineering Taxonomy:
Context reflux is the cost of context switching – moving from one task to another – in time, CPU cycles, or any other relevant unit. Context Reflux is sometimes abbreviated as CR.

Hi.. There is no word like Context Reflux in engineering. It is a fake word created by the students of columbia university. And spread it on the wikipedia and other popular web-sites. So don’t be confused about it.
And you have stumbled on the webpage that topped the search engine ranking for that fake word. I am one of those Columbia students. I will update this page soon to include Herbert Thompson’s talk at RSA conference and this experiment.
Here’s the Herbert Thompson talk at RSA conference on this experiment (go to 5:00)
